In 2009, Heroes Stadium was opened and was built on a 58-acre site of the Longhorn Quarry. It has more than 2,500 paved parking spaces. The 2007 school district bond provided a $27.5 million fund to build this stadium. 

In 2010, a 15 x 25 feet video board system was installed. The stadium is the home venue for different events, such as football, soccer, and track and field. Besides the sports events, it hosts band events for the North East Independent School District’s high schools and different athletic events for the middle and elementary schools of the district.

On August 27, 2010, Heroes Stadium received natural exposure after hosting a game between the Steele Knights of Cibolo and Madison Mavericks. This game is part of ESPN’s High School Rise Kickoff Event and was televised.

This stadium also hosted the San Antonio Scorpions as part of their NASL season in 2012. The team played at this venue with an average of 9,176 attendance, which includes a couple of sellout crowds.
